Jenny Jones

Owner, Director, Competition Director/Coach, 

Dance/Gymnastics Instructor

 

Jenny has danced since the age of 4 1/2.  In college, she studied dance at Oklahoma City University and earned a BA in Dance from George Mason University.  Her teaching career began in 1991 in Dale City, VA.  During the course of her career, Ms Jenny has directed and taught for multiple successful dance programs in the NOVA area.  She joined the D&G family in 2001, becoming owner in 2020. In addition to her degree, Ms Jenny is a certified instructor in Ashtanga Yoga, Rhythm Works Integrative Dance (RWID), Acro Dance Teachers Association Premier (ADTA), Intellidance Tykes & Tots, and Youth Protection Advocacy in Dance (YPAD).  Ms Jenny continues to study and earn certifications in dance, child development, gymnastics, and general health/healing/wellness. She is a member of Dance Studio Owners Association (DSOA), YPAD, ADTA, ADA, and Dance Educators of America (DEA).

Brenda Rath

Ms Brenda began her dance training at the age of 4.  She attended VCU with a major in PE with a Dance Emphasis (A dance major was not available at the time).She then moved to Washington, DC and studied at the Washington National Ballet, and the Washington School of Ballet.  She taught many classes in the DC area as well as coached gymnastics with the Marvateens Gymnastics Club in Rockville, MD.  Ms Brenda has taught at D&G since the day they opened and also teaches at Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA

Gymnastics Instructor

 

Ms Shae joined D&G in 2020 and is a graduate of George Mason University where she studied Therapeutic Recreation and Occupational Therapy.  Ms Shae was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and for more than 5 years she has coached students ranging in age from just walking to 50+.  She has coached recreational, competitive, boys, girls, and differently abled students.  Ms Shae is a USA Gymnastics Certified Instructor.  "Gymnastics has always been a huge part in my life and I just want to share the love of the sport with others."

Ashley Jackson

Dance Instructor 

 

Ms Ashley began her dance journey at the age of 3 at Barton and Williams School of Dance and has trained at multiple studios in the DMV area.  As a student, she has studied under a variety of instructors and choreographers and was privately instructed by Corey-Jeanne Houck Cox for three years.  Ms Ashley was accepted to study at the Virginia School of the Arts, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Richmond Ballet and the Washington Ballet.  Professionally, she has taught at various studios in the NOVA area. Ms Ashley has come back to her roots in Stafford to share her experience and love of dance with her students.

Danielle Johnson

Dance/Gymnastics Instructor 

 

Ms Danielle started dance and gymnastics at 2 1/2 years old where she fell in love with the stage.  She has over 30 years of dance experience, over 10 years of competitive gymnastics, a background in cheer, dance team, and theater.  Danielle holds a BA in Child Development and Education and a Minor in Theater Arts.  Since becoming a dance instructor in 2013, Ms Danielle has won numerous awards for both her own performances as well as those she has choreographed for students.  Her classes show a love of creativity and a sense of family.  She is passionate about teaching, believes that you are never too old to start dancing, and thrilled to share her joy with the D&G Family.

Lexie Jones

Company Coach,

Dance/Gymnastics Instructor 

 

Ms Lexie began training at D&G at the age of 3.  She received training from our talented staff as well as master classes and workshops as a member of our competition dance company.  She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Gymnastics and Cheerleading.  She began assistant teaching at the age of 10 and in High School, began teaching her own classes.  Ms Lexie is currently working toward teaching certifications in Toddler and Preschool Dance, and USA Gymnastics.  She has also worked as an attendant to differently abled children, is working toward becoming an ABA Therapist and has her own photography business.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, photography and spending time with her daughters Autumn & Makenna.

Sarah Lukacs

Dance Instructor 

 

Ms Sarah started her studies at the age of 3 with ballet and tap, bringing over 40 years of experience to D&G.  She has continued her education with classes, workshops, and master classes, broadening her love of dance and deepening her knowledge through ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary and lyrical.  Experience in musical theater has taught Ms Sarah the building blocks of production and performance. Ms Sarah is dedicated to providing a safe, encouraging environment for dancers of all skill levels.  She loves to watch her students grow, succeed, and be better than they were the day before.

Heather Lukacs

Dance/Gymnastics Assistant

 

Ms Heather has been training in a variety of dance styles for over a decade.  As a military child, she has gained experience from numerous teachers and dance environments which has provided diversity in her teaching abilities and expanded her experience as an award winning competitive dancer.  Ms Heather loves working with younger dancers and finds helping them be successful very rewarding.  She loves having the opportunity to pass on her experience to dancers of all ages.

Ms Elyse began dancing at D&G at the age of 9 where she trained for 9 years. She graduated from North Stafford High School and is currently going to Germanna Community College majoring in nursing. Her favorite style of dance is jazz and she has been teaching at D&G since 2018.

Dance/Gymnastics Assistant/Instructor 

 

Ms Kayla began her dancing with D&G Expressions in combo classes as a preschooler.  She has been a member of our Competition Dance Company since age 7.  She has trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acro, and Gymnastics,  In middle school, she began assisting in Adapted and combo classes.  Kayla is currently working toward a teacher certification in toddler and preschool dance.  She can be found assisting, teaching, and substitute teaching various classes at D&G.

Kylie Jones

Dance/Gymnastics Instructor 

 

Ms Kylie began training at D&G at the age of 2 1/2.  She received training from our talented staff as well as master classes and workshops.  She was a member of our Gymnastics team and our competition Dance Company. She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Modern, Acro, Gymnastics and Cheerleading.  She began assistant teaching at a young age and in High School, began teaching her own classes.  Kylie is currently a student at JMU studying Early Childhood Education.  Although she is in Harrisonburg most of the year, Kylie may be back on her breaks to teach at D&G.

Sally Worley

Director of First Impressions/Office Manager

 

Ms. Sally first joined the D&G Expressions family as a "Dance Grandma" in 2008.  She has always been willing to jump in and lend a hand when needed. In 2016, Ms Sally joined us as our Director of First Impressions / Office Manager.  A true "Jill of all trades", Ms Sally handles many tasks at D&G from administrative duties to costume alterations, she plays a big part in keeping things running smoothly at D&G.
